Organ Problems? Skin Problems? Hairballs(cats)? Digestive Weakness? Immune Problems, Walking Problems? Weight Problems? Parasites? Urinary Problems? Bowel Disorders, Other Problems? Nutrition Deficiencies, Crohn's Disease?

As you walk through your supermarket and your pet supply store, the array of pet foods can bewilder anyone. The cute names, like "Stew" and "Feast," and "Soup" are created to attract you; the colors and shapes are also there for you. But buying a food for your dogs and cats based on the packaging or the cute names and even more delightful shapes does not guarantee quality. The food may contain more fillers, colorings, additives and chemicals than nutrients. Short term feeding of an inferior food may not induce immediate health problems, but long term feeding of nutrient poor, over processed, unbalanced pet foods will definitely cause malnutrition, and chronic diseases. It is certainly more cost effective to pay more money for a high quality pet food and save on veterinary bills.

The problem is to wade through the advertising and marketing gimmicks to find a food that meets or exceeds your pet’s daily nutritional requirements. Scientists tell us that to determine your pet’s needs, you must know the percentage of protein, fat, moisture, fiber, ash, calcium, phosphorus, and so on to select the right foods.
To compare between canned food which has more flavor, or dry foods, you must multiply the label nutrient values by 4 to get dry matter basis for canned foods. For example, take a label value of "5% protein" x 4 = 20% on a dry matter basis. For dry foods: Add 10% of the label nutrient values to get dry matter basis. For example, take a label value of "20% protein" + 2 = 22% on a dry matter basis.

The new, popular raw food diets also require calculations and planning. You must know the protein, carbohydrate, fat, and water contents of each food, plus the micronutrients (vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, enzymes) of foods in order to provide the nutrients your pet must have.

If you enjoy these calculations and have time to map out a proper dietary menu, you still need a high quality vitamin/mineral supplement because many areas of the country lack soil nutrients. Foods grown in nutrient poor soils will produce foods that are not as nutrient dense as others. That means you may think you are providing optimum nutrition but, in fact, you may not. Selenium is a good example of this poor soil factor. Selenium deficiency is accepted as a cause for human inflammatory bowel disease and even pancreatic cancer. Selenium works synergistically with iodine for normal thyroid function and this mineral is an important anti-carcinogen normally found in meats, Brazil nuts and some whole grains. Animals that graze on selenium poor soil will not contain sufficient amounts of selenium when they are killed for food. Though the government tells us that beef, chicken, turkey and some dairy products are sources of selenium, they may not be fed grains from selenium rich soils, therefore, your dog will not be getting enough selenium.

There is a way to assure your pet's nutritional needs are met: add "Positive Health" liquid to each meal. We have created an easy to use liquid supplement. Just add the recommended amount into the canned food, kibble, or raw food and serve. Your dog or cat will thoroughly enjoy this all natural supplement; it is so palatable to dogs and cats that you can use it as treat by the spoonful. Positive Health is a powerhouse of nutrition in a delicious tasting Wild Salmon Oil base. Use Positive Health as an addition to every diet— canned foods, raw foods and commercial kibbles.  Just a small amount a day into your animals' food will provide an amazing amount of active nutrients.

Malnourished animals suffer from a variety of health problems. Digestive problems like malabsorption or bowel diseases, feline hairballs, recurring parasites, urinary disorders, immune-mediated diseases, endocrine problems including low thyroid function in dogs and hyperthyroid disease in cats, plus other endocrine disorders can be minimized or even eradicated with Positive Health. When you supply the active nutrients the body needs to grow, thrive, and maintain optimum health, your pet can escape the triggers that cause these breakdowns.

Positive Health is great for pregnant females, helping to alleviate birth problems, and it is rich in natural folic acid which is needed for fetal development. Why guess at nutrition—give them a small amount of Positive Health and then you know you are supplying everything that nature has created for their care.

So what is in this miracle food supplement?

We started with a base of Wild Salmon Oil which is rich in omega oils for healthy skin and a glistening coat. The eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) in salmon oil has anti-inflammatory effects, while the docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) has recently been found to increase mental concentration in puppies and aid their brain development. Salmon oil also helps with tissue repair, maintains reproductive healthiness, and is considered an excellent nutrient for heart health. Its taste is a turn-on to most, if not all pets. Wild caught salmon are free from the toxins found in farm raised salmon, so you are off to a great start with this supplement.

To the salmon oil, we added the all important, full spectrum plant digestive enzymes. Enzymes are organic chemical catalysts that run our pets’ bodies, determining how well they absorb nutrients from food, how oxygen is brought to the cells and tissues and the cleansing functions of the gut and liver. A lack of enzymes can cause serious digestive problems, as well as liver problems.

Enzymes are responsible for every activity of life-even thinking requires enzyme activity. There are two primary classes of enzymes responsible for maintaining life functions: digestive and metabolic. Digestive enzymes pull nutrients from the food making them available for the body to use; metabolic enzymes are responsible for the structuring, repair and remodeling of every cell, and they need constant replenishment. Positive Health contains:

Protease break down proteins into useable amino acids and peptides
Amylase breaks down sugars and starches for better assimilation into the blood stream. Protease enhances utilization of proteins while breaking into amino acids and peptides for the body to use.
Phytase assists with digestion and produces some of the B-complex nutrients.
Cellulase helps breakdown the fiber content of food for better digestion.
Pectinase controls water balance and is essential for cell growth.
Xylanase provides for the breakdown of dietary fiber and carbohydrates like those found in foods such as cruciferous vegetables (broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage), and legumes.
Hemicellulase hydrolyzes the indigestible components of plant fibers.
Alpha-Galactosidase helps to prevent gas by improving digestion of beans, legumes and cruciferous vegetables.
Invertase splits sucrose into glucose and fructose thereby helping with beet and cane sugar digestion.

Lipase increases availability of fat soluble vitamins, increases enzyme activity and enhances the animals coat.

Micro-encapsulated Probiotics. Microencapsulation is a process that surrounds a product—in this case, probiotics—with a thin layer of a biodegradable substance referred to as a microsphere. Microencapsulating protects the product until it gets where it needs to go—sort of like taking a ride through space in a protective bubble. The probiotics must be alive when they arrive at the intestinal area to maximize health benefits.  We encapsulate and add:

Lactobaccilus Acidophilus stimulates lactic acid production creating a hostile environment for bad bacteria and pathogens,
while supplying vital good bacteria. It aids digestion of food, production of B-Vitamins, and provides anti-fungal
activity (against Candida) and other unwanted bacteria. It also has anti-viral properties.

Lactobaccilus Plantarum- fights against bacterial infections by preventing bacteria from adhering to internal walls.

Bifidobacterium Thermophilum is a helpful colonizer after any change in pH. It stimulates lactic acid production.

Bifidobacterium Longum colonizes after a pH shift allowing better fluid and nutrient transfer through the intestinal walls. It also inhibits growth of colon, liver and mammary tumors.

Enterococus Faecium synthesizes B-Vitamins.

Bacillus Subtillus reduces nitrates, and stimulates the growth of the enzymes amylase, protease and lipase.

Inulin is a botanical prebiotic that stimulates the growth of intestinal bifidobacteria, the "good bacteria" to help maintain the health of the gastrointestinal tract. It also works to maintain the concentrations of both calcium and magnesium in the colon to protect against bowel disorders and colon cancer, and has anti-tumor effects.

We add full spectrum natural plant vitamins including vitamins A, B1, B2, B6, B12,D3 and E. The majority of vitamins sold today are synthetic or man-made, but we use only vitamins taken from the source—mother nature. Natural vitamins are best because they include co-factors the body needs to absorb and utilize the vitamins. It’s sort of getting a complete package and not simply an isolated synthetic. With natural plant vitamins you do not get the toxic solvents used in the manufacture of synthetics; there are no fillers or chemicals added to hold the mess together. We use vitamins as nature created them and as the body needs them—natural.

Organic Coral Calcium plus 74 Balanced Trace Minerals- 157 diseases are linked to improper calcium levels, making calcium one of nature’s most vital nutrients. Over 95% of Coral calcium is absorbed directly into the bloodstream but only 4-16% of other calcium forms can be properly absorbed. Coral calcium enhances enzyme activity, aids against some forms of cancer, heals skin and coat problems, supports good joints and proper bone formation, lowers blood pressure, and is good for the heart. This type of calcium is more bioavailable and readily absorbed than other forms of calcium. This is the original above sea level calcium that does not contain excessive heavy metals. Does not harm the environment

Arachidonic Acid- (cat formula) is an essential fatty acid needed by the body to carry fat soluble vitamins. It is linked to proper immune function and anti-inflammatory capabilities.

Colostrum- is the first milk provided to newborns. It is nature’s perfect balance of antibodies, and growth factors which protect against  diseases and strengthen the immune system. Colostrum provides proteins, vitamins and minerals in combinations that remove toxins, while offering support to muscle, bone, nerve tissue, and cartilage health.

Barley Sprouts, are considered a super food, one of the most nutrient dense green foods on earth. It is rich in all essential amino acids, chlorophyll, vitamins C and B12, superoxide dismutase, enzymes, and calcium. The nutrients in barley sprouts aid the body in tissue repair and cell regeneration, detoxify, are anti-inflammatory, and offer protection against pancreatitis.

Carrots-are an excellent source of beta-carotene and vitamin A, antioxidants that fight free radicals, protect the eyes and support immune function. Carrots also contain alpha-carotene, another antioxidant linked to prevention of some cancers. Carrots are good for the skin, teeth and bones.

Spirulina, a blue-green algae, is actually a complete protein. It is an excellent source of gamma-linolenic acid (GLA) and arachidonic acid, two important essential fatty acids. Spirulina also provides amino acids, RNA-DNA, chlorophyll, chelated minerals, enzymes and trace minerals. This supper food is one of few plant sources of vitamin B12. It detoxifies, supports the immune system and aids mineral assimilation.

Schizandra Berries, an ancient Chinese medicinal herb, is used as a tonic to balance the body’s energy. It is widely used as an adaptogen, an herb that strengthens and supports the body’s ability to handle stress. These little berries nourish the lungs and kidneys.

Milk Thistle is an herb that has been in use for thousands of years. Milk thistle helps the liver maintain normal liver function, and protects the liver from environmental toxins by inhibiting the factors responsible for liver damage This herb also stimulates production of new liver cells to replace old damaged ones.

Parsley- is a storehouse of nutrients including vitamins A, B, C and E; potassium, iron, magnesium, chlorophyll, and organic sulfur. The flavonoids and volatile oil components of parsley help the body resist infection, neutralize some carcinogens and help stop the multiplication of tumor cells. Parsley assists the bladder, thyroid gland, kidneys, liver, and lungs. It cleanses the blood, stimulates the digestive system, maintains healthy skin, helps expel worms, and refreshes the breath. What a powerhouse leafy green plant this is!

Choline is not technically a vitamin, it is a nutrient that is important for lipid transport, helps repair cell membrane damage, and is a precursor to acetylcholine, an important neurotransmitter in the brain involved in muscle control, memory, and many other functions. Acetylcholine is the neurotransmitter which is damaged by many pesticides widely used in our environment and allowed as residue on our food.

Reishi mushroom (Ganoderma lucidum) has been used in oriental medicine for thousands of years. Recent studies suggest reishi has beneficial action in treating diabetes mellitus, anti-tumor effect, and high blood pressure. In Japan, it is used as cardiotonic to treat circulatory problems. It has some anti-allergenic properties because it inhibits release of histamine which causes the body’s allergic reaction.

Maitake- (Grifola frondosa) is another mushroom used medicinally in oriental medicine as a dietary supplement that may significantly benefit overall health. Various components in the maitake have tumor inhibiting effects, help lower blood sugar glucose levels (diabetes), and enhance immune system function.

Agaricus (Agaricus blazei). These innocuous morsels have medicinal effects. Agaricus has antibacterial effects, supports the liver, aids diabetes, and has anti-tumor effects and anti-cancer properties.

Coconut Oil may not be the most popular oil for humans but for dogs, it is wonderful. It helps regulate thyroid function, fights immune diseases, is anti-viral, antibacterial, and antiprotozoal (giardia); helps an animal to destroy lipid coated viruses and various pathogenic bacteria. Coconut oil is a digestive aid, especially important for inflammatory bowel disorders. As an antioxidant, it is 50 times more potent than Vitamin E, 15 times more potent than carrots, and 300 times more potent than tomatoes.

Nicotinic Acid (dog formula) or niacin is a B vitamin required by all living cells and is used in more than 40 biochemical reactions. It is also important for the synthesis of fatty acids, protein and carbohydrate metabolism. Dogs can synthesize nicotinic acid from the amino acid tryptophan when they are fed a proper diet, but a deficiency of this important vitamin is known to occur in dogs. Nicotinic acid helps in the maintenance of healthy skin, circulation, nervous system, diabetes, cancer prevention, memory
enhancement, and has anti-inflammatory effects.

Fennel- is an herb and a vegetable with a large bulbous base and feathery leaves. You see these delicious bulbs in your supermarket since they are so good sliced up in salads. They lend a refreshing licorice flavor to foods. This vegetable is not just another pretty face, it has some important medicinal uses as a digestive aid. Fennel is beneficial in fat digestion, controls
intestinal gas, promotes liver function, stimulates the pancreas and spleen, while aiding the kidneys. It has been used to increase lactation after birth and to relieve chest and nasal congestion.

Zinc Chelate is a trace element needed for proper growth, protein metabolism, reproductive health and wound healing. Zinc is necessary for the activity of more than 100 enzymes in the body and is a coenzyme in many antioxidant activities. Some breeds of dog can suffer from zinc deficiency.

Dried Egg Yolk Solids contain highly digestible proteins, chromium (essential for metabolism of sugars and amino acids for cell reproduction), naturally occurring vitamins, minerals, and other important nutrients. It is essential for the metabolism of sugars and amino acids. The protein found in eggs is actually of a high quality than the protein found in meat and fish.

NOW you can see why Positive Health is a miracle supplement. We have thought this one through, and you can trust us that we have your pets’ health in mind at all times. Positive Health is a marvel of good nutrition for the animals that may or may not be getting what they need.
